About the show

The Movie Park in Bottrop, one of Germany's largest amusement parks, approached us to be a permanent part of their Christmas event, "Hollywood Christmas." We felt very honoured, as this was the first winter opening at the Movie Park and thus particularly important for the company. We were the highlight, concluding the event.

Project description

The request

Movie Park Bottrop approached us because they wanted a highlight to conclude their Christmas event. Fireworks were not an option, as local residents had previously complained about the noise levels. In this case, a drone show was the perfect match. Additionally, a permanent installation was planned, which was to run at the end of each opening day. Again, a drone show is well-suited for this, as repeating the same show is significantly cheaper than designing and obtaining approval for a new show for the first time.

The preparation

In terms of design, the focus was on festive elements from the USA. The aim was to make it extravagant and colourful. Additionally, the entire show was synchronised to music, as a special soundtrack was composed for this drone show.

The realisation

Before each show date, we consulted with the client regarding the weather in November/December. Once a decision was made, we arrived at the park about three hours before the show started and set everything up.

The Conclusion

The shows went well and presented something that had not been seen before in German amusement parks. Despite the stormy and wet weather in November and December, a large portion of the shows could still be flown. In the end, many enthusiastic visitors remained at the Movie Park.
