About the show
A show for an event at the Event Resort: Scalaria am Wolfgangsee is always an experience for us! This was also the case on 22 May, when the Scalaria Resort on Lake Wolfgang booked us for a very special event.
On this evening, the car manufacturer VW had invited us to celebrate 50 years of the Golf! We were also able to play our part in a festive evening.

The request
The Scalaria Resort had asked us for this show about 2 months earlier. As we had worked together many times before, the coordination and planning was completed in no time at all. Our task was to use our drones to create a highlight for an event organised by the car manufacturer VW. The theme was the ‘VW Golf’ and its history.
The preparation
Lake Wolfgangsee is always a fantastic backdrop for our shows. With the view of the lake and its panorama, our glowing images fit perfectly into the night sky. However, as we fly directly over the lake, a drone failure would be very annoying. Professional technical preparation is essential, especially for an evening like this.
Not only the technical preparation is part of our job, but also the coordination with other elements and the direction are very important for a smooth process. The lighting of our drones and their movements were adjusted to the music to the second and the flight routes and altitude had to be adapted to other show elements such as water fountains or laser beams. In addition to the show planning, we naturally also took care of the necessary authorisations from the Austrian aviation authority ‘Austro Control’.
The realisation
Before every show, the necessary security must be ensured. The most important part of this is cordoning off a large security area, which our contacts at the Scalaria Resort kindly took care of for us. Once we had positioned our fleet along the promenade of Lake Wolfgangsee, we waited by radio for the start signal from the director. After take-off, our drones made their way across the water to a stage placed in the lake, where the drone choreography took place. The return flight then had to take place according to plan, as the show was scheduled to end with a fireworks display. To prevent the drones from being shot down, we had to leave the airspace at the right time.
The conclusion
Once again, the show at Lake Wolfgang was a wonderful experience. Together with the music and light show, we were able to draw fantastic pictures in the night sky. The audience was just as enthusiastic as we were. Long journeys and meticulous planning are always worthwhile for moments like this. Lake Wolfgangsee is a wonderful location that we love to visit again and again so that we can continue to be a partner for unforgettable moments for the Scalaria Resort.
